International Symposium on Automotive Lighting 2021 (ISAL 2021)

More than 600 experts from internationally renowned research institutes, automotive companies and semiconductor and optics companies met from 04 to 06 April 2022 at the ISAL 2021

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is helping to write the future of automotive lighting technology.

The International Symposium on Automotive Lighting (ISAL) was held at the Darmstadtium in early April. The conference was opened by the President of the TU Darmstadt, Prof. Brühl, and welcomed over 600 experts from all over the world who gathered in Darmstadt in hybrid formats to talk about the automotive lighting technology of today and tomorrow.

Adaptive lighting functions such as LED headlights and rear lights, lighting functions for communication between future automated vehicles and other road users, data and sensor signal fusions as well as traffic concepts in smart cities were discussed in various lectures and exhibitions.

In addition, the two doctoral students from TU Darmstadt, Anil Erkan and Christian Hinterwälder, were selected for the best paper and the best oral presentation, respectively.
