From October 23 to 25, two employees from the laboratory took part in the symposium.

Researchers from the laboratory took part in the Light Symposium 2025 at Wismar University of Applied Sciences, which this year focused on the theme of “Responsible Lighting.” The conference addressed the ecological and social impacts of artificial lighting and the question of how lighting design can be implemented responsibly within planetary boundaries.

Brandon Fobugwe spoke about how color science can be combined with aspects of art history, while Dr. Julian Klabes gave a presentation on color preference in a cultural context.

Both contributions met with great interest and made a valuable contribution to the discussion on sustainable and conscious lighting design.

Participation enabled an intensive exchange with experts from science, lighting design, architecture, and industry and provided important impetus for further research and teaching in the field of responsible lighting design.
