Successful Joint PhD Defense at Fudan University and TU Darmstadt

In November 2023, Fudan University in Shanghai and the Technical University of Darmstadt signed a significant agreement for a joint PhD program.
This partnership allows for collaborative supervision and awarding of doctoral degrees. On December 12, 2023, the first candidate under this program, Mr. Christopher Weirich, successfully defended his dissertation. His research, titled “Using external cortical EEG characteristics, visual perception and cognitive emotional feedbacks to investigate human-centric interior lighting for autonomous vehicles,” was supervised by Prof. Yandan Lin (Fudan) and Prof. Tran Quoc Khanh (TU Darmstadt). The PhD was awarded with “Excellence”, with Prof. Ralf Steinmetz and Prof. Michael Muma from TU Darmstadt serving as examiners.
