Last Friday, Mr. Andreas Walingen, Head of Strategy Brand VW PKW, CSO at Volkswagen AG visited the ALSVV Department during a small campus tour together with Prof. Dr. Schiereck from the Department of Corporate Finance (FB 1).

On Dec. 12, 2022, our Christmas Lecture will take place starting at 10:30 a.m. with an enlightening lecture by Dr. Hamm, entertaining & exciting experiments and, of course, Glühwein and christmas cookies.

On 12/07/2022 Babak Zandi successfully defended his PhD thesis.

Babak Zandi from the Laboratory of Adaptive Lighting Systems and Visual Processing has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the renowned journal Scientific Reports.

This year's SIA VISION conference took place in Paris from October 19 to 20, 2022. The working group Automotive Lighting Technology of the Laboratory of Adaptive Lighting Systems and Visual Processing was also present with two presentations.

On Oct. 17, 2022, colleagues from the Japanese headlight manufacturer Koito visited the Laboratory of Adaptive Lighting Systems and Visual Processing to discuss cooperation opportunities regarding adaptive automotive headlight systems.

The Laboratory of Adaptive Lighting Systems and Visual Processing visited the Energy Institute of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) to discuss future collaborations in the field of automotive and street lighting.

On 07/28/2022, the project “AI-based modeling of photosynthesis as a function of radiation intensity, wavelength and pulse modulation” (Project No. 500805487) was approved. Applicants: Prof. Dr. Ralf Kaldenhoff, Applied Plant Science and Prof. Dr. – Ing. habil Tran Quoc Khanh, Laboratory of Adaptive Lighting Systems and Visual Processing.

On July 8, the annual summer party of the “Verein der Freunde des Fachgebiets Lichttechnik der Technische Universität Darmstadt e.V.” (“Association of Friends of the Laboratory of Lighting Technology of the TU Darmstadt e.V.”) took place for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. After the annual general meeting, around 60 members, friends of the department as well as guests came together in sunny weather to exchange ideas and celebrate.
